Feed the body.
Serve the soul.
Every week, Yoga in the Grove serves a free, organic, vegetarian meal to roughly 200 people in our community — no questions asked, no registration required. You are welcome at our table simply because you arrived.
what is food for life
A global tradition of pure giving
Food for Life is a global initiative rooted in the ancient tradition of prasadam — food prepared with intention, offered as a spiritual act. From New York City to London to Cape Town, thousands of volunteers feed millions of people each year under this same simple principle: pure food, freely given, can heal the world.
We are proud to be Coconut Grove's home for Food for Life. Like our sister programs in cities around the world, we believe that no one should go hungry — and that a meal made with love nourishes something deeper than the body.
our kitchen, your table
Two hundred people. Every week. Free.
After every class and event, we prepare and share a full community meal — traditional Krishna prasadam, cooked with care from organic, vegetarian ingredients. Every week, we feed roughly 200 people, completely free, in two ways:
100 people at our center
100 people are fed on Sundays at our centers for a small donation.
100 people in the streets
Every Monday, 100 free meals are served to homeless members of our community in downtown Miami. No one has to come to us. We go to them.
There is no form to fill out. No ID to show. Just food, made with love, offered freely.
how it works
Simple by design
At the center
A hot meal is served following our regular classes and events. The kitchen runs on devotion, and the table is always set.
In the community
Volunteers take meals directly to homeless individuals in the neighborhood each week, as an act of seva — selfless service that extends beyond our walls.
Organic, vegetarian, and prepared with love
All food is made from scratch using organic ingredients, cooked with care and offered in the spirit of pure giving.
"Food for Life is the world's largest plant-based food relief program, active in over 60 countries. We are honored to carry that mission here, in the heart of Coconut Grove."
get involved
The kitchen is always open to helpers
Our Food for Life program runs because of volunteers who show up to chop, cook, serve, and wash dishes. If you'd like to be part of the kitchen, we'd love to have you.
